Dear FBU member Can all branches meet on a regular basis to support their elected representatives.   If you don’t have a branch representative, call a branch meeting and through your FBU members, nominate and elect the person you feel most capable of representing your needs and who can ensure that the negotiated policies of your contracts are being implemented fairly and correctly. Each Retained Branch is permitted to elect a Branch Chair, Branch Secretary and if any members are qualified a Branch Health and Safety representative. Paul was recently elected as Chair of the Southern Region of the Fire Brigades Union, following on from the role of Region 12 ULR coordinator. After the FBU’s hard-won victory in the House of Lords and the Employment Tribunal in Croydon, the union has been in negotiations with the employers’ side of the NJC and the Treasury Solicitor to reach a settlement.
